If you are on Facebook, you must have heard that Facebook is going to be hacked on 5th November, which is today. Though you maybe disappointed happy that it isn't going to be hacked. Turns out, all posts telling about the hack, and the video by anonops was a fake. Facebook isn't going to be hacked. Proof you say?
How did the rumor start?
The rumor sparked from a youtube video, which said that Facebook was going to be hacked on November 5th. The authenticity couldn't be proved true, and couldn't be proved false. That is the reason it generated the buzz.
You can find many videos by a simple search, but the official video has been removed!
It featured Microsoft Sam's voice saying that Facebook is going to be hacked as it sells user data to government and advertisers (it's true, it does)
Why Can't we verify the authenticity of the video?
You must be thinking that why couldn't we identify the authenticity of the video. The reasons are simple -
- Voice was computerized, no source.
- Anonymous has no official youtube channel, so anyone could upload the video.
- No responses to the video, no word from anonymous.
Why Facebook won't be hacked?
As stated earlier, there was no response from anonymous to verify the authenticity. Still, twitter was flooded with #Op_Fb... And now, we know that it doesn't exist.
But, the Solid Evidence that Facebook will not be hacked...
anonymous's official tweet.
