The spam looks like a cheaply made certificate. It says

The spam requires you to use an app. The app needs permission to access your news feed... Why would it need that??
The spam, if you are idiotic enough to give access to it, creates a lame certificate, and writes your name at the top. Then it tags a few of your friends in the bottom right corner as 'Benchmates' so that they notice the spam, and maybe spread it if they aren't technologically sane.
How to stop the spam-
First of all, comment on your friend's page with -
Stop the spread, be technologically sane.

"You have excelled in using Facebook to the maximum and wasting soo much time. In honour of your achievement we present this qualification on 'Facebook all-rounder'."Looks like a kids work. Notice the spelling of 'So'.
Another thing that came to my notice was the bottom right corner, having the passing marks. Obviously to add a sense of competition, so other people participate too. It reads
"You are awarded with a x that requires y marks. To get a diploma you need more than 50 marks, for a degree more than 60 marks, and more than 75 for a first class degree you require 75 marks."And then ofcourse, it tags some of your friends (as 'Benchmates') So the spam comes to their notice. Also, it makes the description like an advertisement, making it more and more spammy.
